Vincent D'Arves

Originally from Savoy (in the French Alps), Vincent d' Arves, was born in Lyon in 1971. He has always basked in the field of art. When he was 20 years old, this theatre-impassioned artist split his work between fine art and scenic decoration. Then, driven by a youthful desire to explore, he traveled around the world as a decorator for the Club Med. When he was 30 years old, after a short stint in the field of publicity, he decided devote his life to his true passion: pictorial art. As a result of his life experiences, his travels, and his experimentation, he then debuted his first collection: “Around the World in 80 Canvases”. Thus began a whirlwind of showings, exhibitions, and gallery events. With everything starting to click into place, Vincent found himself selected for awards, honors, and sponsorships in many international art expos. “Painting is my existence, my philosophy. ”
Technique:
Mother-of-pearl, coffee, mercurochrome in paintings … The colors of Vincent d' Arves’ canvases are more than drawn from nature. They are nature. The artist collects organic elements and minerals, such as spices, shells, soil, coffee, crushed mother-of-pearl, and gold powder, which he binds with resins, varnishes, or glue, and works with a spatula. All the whites in his paintings are mother of pearl, the blues from a Canadian soil, the reds made from mercurochrome. It is a true alchemy of natural pigments.

His words:
“Art has no use, it is just essential… I have so many things to say, feel, live that I absolutely had to find a loophole to my frustration not to be able to tell my existence. I felt misunderstood and I refused to live a life structured by the reason and normality. Painting came to my help like obviousness; it enables me to be told well beyond the words, it fills me. It summarizes by itself all that I am and all that surrounds me. The infinite has always inspired my dreams, and describing the world in a simple and primary form does not interest me. My instinct gives me a deepened vision of the world, which I want to depict beyond my own glance. I do not make any abstraction in my art; I always seek the depth of each direction. My painting is a date, it attracts by its esthetism and allures by its glamorous language. It speaks to us, looks at us, exhilarates us. It's almost a loving exchange. It exists and realizes to us. My originality and my nonconformism are my universe, my difference, the control of my own alphabet, my me. My painting is expressed thanks to my interpretation of impressionism, I employ the color like a melody, the curve like a note and the feature like a rhythm, I paint symphonies. Painting is my existence, my philosophy. ”
